Ingredients

  • 5 Star buns
  • 500g mince beef
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 tbsp. Ketchup
  • 5 little gem lettuce leaves
  • 5 cheese slices

Serves 5

Method

  • Mix mince beef in a bowl with 1.5 tbsp. ketchup and the egg
  • Make 5 100g patties from the mixture, ensuring they’re all the same thickness
  • Put on a plate, cover with cling film and leave in the fridge to firm up for at least 30 minutes
  • Lightly brush 1 side of each burger with vegetable oil
  • Place the burgers, oil-side down in a pan for 5 minutes before oiling the other side and turning the pattie over to cook for another 5 minutes
  • Place lettuce on the base of the bun, top with the burger pattie, a slice of cheese and the rest of the ketchup.
